The nursing home is a very important venue for the activities and living of the elderly. Therefore, the safety management of the elderly in nursing homes has become an issue of increasing concern to the community. For the current large-scale public places such as nursing homes, for the management of entry and exit of personnel, the need for intelligent areas, accurate positioning, and alarming for help, at present, there are various types of solutions on the market. From the initial GPS positioning management, mobile phone positioning management Later, passive RFID has improved the management level of elderly people in nursing homes to varying degrees, and some effective solutions have been given to the safety issues of the elderly. However, there are still some problems. For example, the coverage of the signal, the accurate positioning of the elderly, needs to be located in each area, to facilitate the security patrolling personnel to deal with the first time when receiving the alarm, the elderly unconscious falling help seeking alarm, etc., the above system did not Solve the problem.
In view of the existence of these problems, combined with the technical advantages of active RFID technology, this system has now been developed as the “Regional Position Management System for Nursing Homes”. The program, by wearing an active electronic wristband tag for each elderly person, allows the administrator to know the trajectory of the elderly in real time and accurately without having to keep track of the time. Each tag in the management system records the elderly basic information, health status, medical history and family members contact information and other information, through a visual software system, easy to locate and view at any time, to facilitate the intelligent management of elderly apartments. At the same time, it can well solve the need for automated identification of personnel in and out, regional security management personnel and wards in the location of the elderly location management, fall / emergency medical assistance alarm. The system can also achieve intelligent monitoring and management, personnel information and data management, cross-border alarms, button assistance alarms, historical walking trajectory tracking and other functions. Greatly improved the level of safety management for the elderly and realized the intelligent management of old apartment buildings.
2. System introduction
For the needs of elderly apartments, we designed the following system:
Each room door and the exits of each floor, each building doorway and the apartment door are installed with a fixed reader to identify each person’s worn wrist strap labels that are monitored by the floor they belong to, enabling the monitoring computer to pass through the floor. The control room or the administrator's portable PDA can grasp the physical location of the elderly and other information. In this way, 24-hour real-time monitoring of the elderly and administrators is implemented to ensure the safety of the elderly. Our aim is to reduce the frequency of accidents and improve the management of apartments by improving the care of the elderly.
Passing battery-powered RFID wristband tags on elderly people, and placing identification tags at the entrance of each room and at the exit of each floor, and at the door of each building and at the entrance of apartments, and passing positioning data to the location software. The physical location can be graphically displayed in the interface of the control software.
The RFID positioning system for the elderly adopts RFID active electronic tags. The operating frequency is 2.4 GHz and will not cause interference to other medical equipment. Its size is about 4*7cm and its thickness is less than 2mm. It can be made into wristbands, badges and other forms. Old people who need follow-up guarding can wear their e-tags to get their instant information. The local network can monitor the elderly's real-time location, status, and other information, and then read it out in the control software. Apartment managers can easily find out about the elderly’s real-time location and status information by simply operating the mouse and quickly find them and implement appropriate medical programs.
3. System principle
First, several card readers are placed at the entrance of each room of the building, at the exit of each floor, and at the entrance of each floor, and they are networked through the network wiring and the computer in each layer of the care unit.
At the same time, each old person wears a wristband tag (electronic tag). Each old man's wristband tag is matched with the reader of his room. When an old man wearing an electronic wristband enters the building, as long as it passes or approaches any reader installed in the hospital, the reader immediately senses the signal and immediately uploads it to the computer in the corresponding care unit. The computer can immediately determine Specific information (such as: who, where, specific time, physical condition, etc.), and determine whether the old man is in the wrong room, and display it on the computer screen of the care unit and make a backup. The manager can also click on a location in the hospital according to the distribution diagram on the big screen or on the computer. The computer will then count and display the personnel in this area. If the old man leaves the room within the specified time, the care unit sends a signal and shows the specific situation of the person, whereabouts and expected return time.
Similarly, if the elderly person is not in the room or in the wrong room within the specified time, the intensive care unit will issue an alert to the administrator to perform the corresponding management operations.
There is a small button on the wristband. If the elderly can press the button in an emergency situation, the manager will be notified of an emergency and need help. When an elderly person presses a button, a nearby card reader can recognize it and send a signal to the control center to inform the control center of the old person's specific location.
The computer in the monitoring room will sort out the various activity schedules for each of the old people in this period based on the information about the movement of the elderly for a period of time. In addition, once an accident occurs in an apartment, the situation of the person at the accident site can be immediately found out based on the personnel distribution information in the computer. Then a special detector can be used to further determine the position of the person at the accident so as to help the management personnel solve the problem in an accurate and rapid manner. ACCIDENT.
If the accident care unit cannot be resolved, the care unit manager can directly notify the personnel of the general monitoring center to request support. According to the information of the wristband, to locate a specific geographical location, the main screen of the general monitoring center can be connected with the video surveillance, locate a specific monitoring screen, monitor the occurrence status, and take corresponding measures in time according to the situation.

4. System function
1) Real-time positioning
According to the RFID terminal equipment worn by the elderly, they can be located within the cell and displayed on the electronic map. When looking for a person’s location, entering a person’s name or number quickly locates the location of the person and staff they are looking for. Anywhere (any place), AnyTIme (any time), Anything (anything), ensures accurate and reliable real-time movement, provides security for the safety of the elderly, and provides strong support for the management of staff.
2) Historical tracking
The position of the personnel can be dynamically displayed on the electronic map in real time. The manager can dynamically grasp the number and distribution of personnel. The mouse can be moved to the person's icon to view the detailed information of the person. The system can record the time and place of all personnel passing through the weather, track and replay the movement route of the personnel, and grasp the route and time of their detailed activities.
3) Access Control Integration
When passing through some important entrances and exits, the terminal of the personnel will communicate with the RFID reader. It will make good use of the characteristics of long-distance RFID identification, read in large quantities, and the elderly will not need to swipe the card. Everything will be done automatically and every time. The information taken is transmitted to the back office management system and recorded in the database. Supports reading of high-speed moving objects or personnel data.
4) File Management
From the first day of the elderly's stay, the elderly information can be entered into the system, including basic information, health information, and precautions. The terminals that distribute the elderly have RFID tags. The tags can store some information and have a unique ID number that can be bound according to the database information. Managers can assign different privileges to the staff. They can add, delete or change the information of the elderly and edit the file information of the elderly at any time to realize the management of the entire process of the elderly. The biggest feature is that people can be used as nodes, which can be tracked and addressed. This is also the core essence of the Internet of Things.
5) SOS alarm
The terminal worn by the elderly/security and other related personnel has an SOS alarm function button. In the event of an emergency, the alarm button can be pressed (in order to avoid possible misoperation by touching the button, it is set to press for 3 seconds), and then the platform will receive To alarm information, promptly display the location of the personnel, and can at any time call up personnel information, as well as the individual's personal health status, illnesses, etc., and provide relevant information for the rapid response of medical personnel and emergency assistance. Staff can provide guidance. Get support quickly.
6) SMS alert
In the archives management of the elderly, a form view of old people's contacts is established in the database, and the system sets up an SMS reminding function according to the collection and processing of information, and can regularly send short messages to children and relatives of the elderly. The family members of the elderly can understand the life conditions of the elderly. . Reflecting the active humane care of nursing home institutions, the elderly family members can have more understanding of nursing homes and the elderly and make the family more at ease. It enables people to understand the distant parents and understand their daily life situation is real.
7) Mobile attendance
In a specific area in the community that requires on-duty, or a routine patrol route that requires patrolling at a certain time period, area coverage is achieved by deploying a certain reader/writer device, once the security personnel carrying an RFID wrist or equipment card enters the area The area is automatically identified by the system and displayed in real-time on the electronic map in the background. At the same time, it is also possible to query and play back the trajectory of someone in any time period. At the same time, through the configuration and settings in the background, according to the needs of the company's internal security management, the corresponding attendance reports are output.
8) Report statistics
After collecting and processing information for the elderly, different reports may be generated according to different factors to perform statistics. For example, data mining analysis can be conducted on the daily activities of the elderly, and it may be more appropriate to arrange the activities of the elderly and adjust the schedules. With more scientific and more obvious ways of managing and arranging, the staff can be more convenient and smooth, providing better and more proactive services for the elderly.
